Van Don Airport Project started in 2015, is one of the first airport projects to be invested in the form of BOT (Build - Operate - Transfer) and assigned to Sun Group as the investor . Expected when officially put into operation in 12/2018, Van Don International Airport will have nine routes with the ability to welcome about 7,000 visitors per day. At peak times it is expected to reach 1,250 passengers per hour.

The operator is the office of the airport operator (VDIA), port authority, customs, animal quarantine, medical quarantine, border security and other public areas.
